Enhancing Privacy and Security

Maintaining privacy while you’re in your home is essential. If you have PowerView® Automation, you need look no further than the PowerView App.

A scene is a predetermined setting for your PowerView® shades, such as “Bedroom Open” or “Bedroom Close.”

Maintaining privacy while you’re in your home is essential for peace of mind, as is knowing your home is secure when you’re away—whether you’re enjoying a long weekend or an extended trip.

And if you have PowerView® Automation, you need look no further than the PowerView App and schedules to easily increase privacy or enhance security.

Putting Schedules to Work for You

You’re probably well aware that turning interior lights on at dusk, but leaving the shades open, creates something akin to a fishbowl, where neighbors or curious passersby can see directly into your home.

You can prevent the fishbowl effect, though, by taking advantage of PowerView Schedules. Simply schedule shades to close every day at sunset and you’ll have instant privacy, without having to lift a finger.

In addition, schedules come in handy for enhancing security while you’re away. If you’re planning to be out of town, you can make your home look occupied even when it’s not by scheduling shades to raise and lower at different times each day you’re away.

“Favorites” and Privacy

The PowerView App is also great for enhancing privacy if you happen to have shades with unique features. Shades with our Top-Down/Bottom-Up feature, for example, are perfect for early-morning privacy.

Create and save a Favorite position that slightly lowers the shade from the top down. When you’re getting ready for your day, use the remote or the app to activate that Favorite, so you can enjoy the early morning sunlight while maintaining your privacy.

Favorites for privacy also work well if you have shades with our Duolite® system, which combines a light-filtering and a room-darkening fabric into a single shade. Create a Favorite position that lowers the room-darkening fabric partway, and you’ll have instant privacy whenever you desire.

PLEASE NOTE

While shades that operate differently can be in the same scene, you’ll need to set their positions separately. For example, Silhouette®  sheers move horizontally while Luminette® sheers move vertically. If you have both sheers in the same scene, you can only position the Silhouette sheers OR the Luminette sheers together at the same time.

You can also adjust scene speed to “Discreet,” for slower and quieter operation.

And if you want to add this scene to your Dashboard tab, toggle on the “Add Scene to Dashboard” option.

6.   Tap “Save.”

And that’s it! You’ve just created a custom scene.
